Playful dolphins

Hello there!

This week has seen many fun encounters with the wild dolphins here in and around Mandjar Bay.  The picture above was taken by our lovely boat staff of a very happy dolphin checking out all the friendly faces on out 1 hour Dolphin and Canal Cruise.  Lets hope this smoke haze from down south disapears in time for a lovely sunny weekend!

Wednesday 22nd February

• Dolphins near inlet

• Heading south beneath the new traffic bridge

Tuesday 21st February

• Nicky and baby ‘Giggles’ heading up channel towards the marina

• Pods of dolphins at Fairbridge bank

Monday 20th February

• Pod of dolphins near Mandjar bay

• Pod of dolphins spotted under new bridge

• Dolphins feeding and slowly swimming

Sunday 19th February

• Nicky and newborn ‘giggles’ hanging out with two other female dolphins

• Nicky and calf swan on boats bow for a while

• Pod of dolphins in marina

• Dolphins jumping with boat near the bypass bridge channel marker

• Pod of dolphins in waterside canals swimming slowly

A HUGE amount of dolphin sightings on our 1 hour Dolphin and Canal Scenic Tours this week!  Everyone here at Mandurah Cruises is looking forward to cruising this coming weekend and hope the wild dolphins playful mood continues for our customers.

• Loads of dolphins today! Dolphins were seen near the inlet, Old Bridge and in the bay. Too many to count on two hands!

IT'S JUMP TIME HERE ON MANDJAR BAY! (Monday 13th February)

The local dolphins have been out and about this week with some really special encounters had by our customers.  They have been playful and have enjoyed showing off for our cruises and swimming along with our boats.

Tuesday 7th February


• 9 dolphins heading out slowly to ocean in a playful mood

• Female pod slowly cruising around Mandjar Bay

• 2 dolphins fishing in estuary

• Female and calf spotted near canal entrance

• Mother and Calf near boundary island

• 3 dolphins in marina, followed boat to the estuary

• No sightings



Saturday 11th February

• 2 dolphins in Mandjar Bay, feeding and playing

• 2 dolphins in channel



Sunday 12th February

• Nikky fishing near jetty

• Dolphins fishing in Mandjar Bay

• 4 dolphins in Sticks Channel, followed boat into estuary

• 4 more dolphins played with boat near fairbridge bank

• 4 playing near boat with calves spinning upside down

• Mother and calf making their way through the marina

Dolphin splash about weekend!

Thank-you to all our fun visitors that cruised with us over the weekend! A great time was had by all aboard and the weather was fantastic for cruising the beautiful canals here in Mandurah.  The local dolphins were splashing about and enjoying their regular swim along with our boats which gave the passengers plenty of opportunity to get that nice close up picture with the wild dolphins here on Mandjar Bay.  This photo was taken by a crew member on Saturday and is now winning the hearts of our friendly staff here at Mandurah Cruises.  Tell your friends to come and cruise with us this weekend, it's sure to be great!

1 January

• 3 Dolphins seen in front of MPAC near the departure point by Mandjar
• 3 Dolphins spotted in the main channel by Super Cat
• 3 Dolphins spotted latter in the day again in the main channel probably the same 3 as earlier today by Super Cat

• 4 Dolphins seen in the channel past the old bridge by Dancing Dolphin
•  6 Dolphins swimming next to Super Cat heading out to sea.
•  7 Dolphins spotted near the new bridge by Dolphin Discoverer

• 1  Dolphin seen entering the canal near the War Memorial by Mandjar
• 3 Dolphins seen near the ocean mouth by Mandjar
• 2 Dolphins (mother and calf) seen opposite Stingray Point feeding  by Super Cat
• 1 Dolphin seen swimming fast from the south towards the old traffic bridge.

• 2 Dolphins feeding in the shallows
• 5 Dolphins swimming on the bow wave of Dancing Dolphin to the marina

• 6 Dolphins seen feeding near the old traffic bridge including a seal by the Super Cat
• 1 Dolphin bow riding.
• 2 Dolphins and a seal in main channel. Mandjar
• 1 Dolphin just cruising. Mandjar
• 1 Dolphin on the bow wave of Dancing Dolphin and also fishing.

• 6 Dolphins (male and female mixed pod) feeding out of Mandjar Bay.
•  6 Dolphins, same pod as earlier today found near Waterside Canals, followed them until Mandurah Quays, awesome watching, everyone onboard the Mandjar were very happy.

• 1 Dolphing leaving heading to the ocean. Super Cat

• 1 Dolphin at Sth canal entrance heading for old Bridge jumping in the air.
• 1 Dolphin in the shallows near canals

• 2 Dolphins in the main channel near the new bridge “just cruising” with Dancing Dolphin
• 9 Dolphins Heading towards the Old Bridge from the south canal entrance. Dancing Dolphin.
• 5 Dolphins in main canal with Mandjar
• 11 Dolphins – Nikki and 10 others followed Super Cat from the Sth canal entrance and surfed to the Old Traffic Bridge. Full bodies out of the water jumping. Young female teenager very pink and play jumping into the air.

• 9  dolphins in main estuary channel
• 6 Dolphins playing with the Dancing Dolphin, moving slowly and the guests really enjoyed them
• 3 Dolphins -1 fishing near Dome café, Nikki and boyfriend at the channel markers, all went to the ocean.

• 3 dolphins spotted from Dolphin Discoverer
• 1 Dolphin spotted entering the canals at the War Memorial from Super Cat
•  2 Dolphins riding the bow wave of Dancing Dolphin near Fairbridge Bank
• 1 Dolphin Swimming upstream past the War Memorial

• 5 Dolphin spotted in the main Channel from the new bridge back to the canal entrance just ambling along with the Dancing Dolphin.

•  8 dolphins seen on all cruises!” Vessel Mandjar
• 3 Dolphins swimming alongside the Dancing Dolphin vessel in the estuary.
• 5 Dolphins being very playful along side the vessel Super Cat

• 3 Dolphins swimming in the wake of Dancing Dolphin heading upsteam from the estuary bridge to Peel Inlet.
