Another Playmate for Baby Sonic!

Bouvard cruises "Dancing Dolphin" has just seen another newborn dolphin calf out in the estuary younger and much smaller than baby Sonic who was only too happy to show off and play with the boat to the delight of our passengers and crew. The newest arrival wasnt shy either and mum bought him over to the boat for a quick ride under the bow giving us a rare chance to get a photo of such a young calf. If you look closely at the picture of the newborn you will notice that he has stripes down the side of his body baby dolphins have these stripes until they are about 6 weeks old.

Mandurah's very playful dolphins!

What an amazing week it has been for the crew and passengers onboard Bouvard Cruises this week. There have been dolphin sightings on nearly every cruise this week and the dolphins have been amazing, from baby dolphins just about every day to dolphins leaping out of the water and playing in the wake of the boats.

One of the local pods including Nikky, White Spot and 22 have been chasing after our boats in the past few days leaping out of the water and putting on a great show. This mornings 10am cruise did not let us down with the youngest of the calves who we have named baby Sonic was seen with his mum in the Mandurah Ocean Marina and then again in Manjar Bay. We also had a pod of dolphins in the Mandurah estuary that joined us and played under the bow of "Dancing Dolphin" they also jumoed out of the water. Both crew and passengers enjoyed the great show put on by the dolphins and we are pretty sure they enjoyed it too. :)

Babies in the bay!

In the last few weeks we have had two new arrivals. The crew at Bouvard Cruises have been happy to introduce two baby dolphins to their passengers with regular sightings of a 7 week old calf and a smaller calf that is about a week and a half old now. Both calves are doing well and are getting more and more confident, which is great for us to get a good look at them. Like any baby they are still learning how things are done and they don't always go to plan but with mum close by the calves are learning fast. The dolphins have been regulars on our cruises in the past few weeks and we have some great photos to share with you. The first photo is of the older calf at around 6 weeks old and the other is of the youngest dolphin at about one and a half weeks old.
